Hi, I'm Erica

Horses have been a hugely important part of my life for a long as I can remember and through horses I have made long-term friendships which have stood the test of time.
This passion has since been imbued in my daughters, whose lives have revolved around horses, coming up through Pony Club to compete at National level in their chosen disciplines.
Now they have children of their own who have inherited ‘the love’. The girls are all out competing according to their age, and my grandson Louis, whilst no longer riding regularly, has inherited the ‘eye’ and works with me as an equestrian photographer.

Through the years I always had a camera in my hand, recording my daughters’ (and now my granddaughters) progression through their equine careers – then Bill Parrott persuaded me to take my photography more seriously.

Over the years I have covered all sorts of equestrian events/activities, across the Midlands, from Pony Club Branch events & Area competitions, through grass roots competitions to BE, BD and BS events, and National Championships.
I am a regular at Eland Lodge Equestrian, all year round, and it doesn’t matter whether I am photographing children jumping cross-poles in their first competition, or sat with my camera trained on a yawping great XC fence – I love it all, and have a great respect for competitors at all levels.

I have loved my hunting too, and followed the Meynell & South Staffordshire Hunt, with my camera, for nearly twenty years, recording their exploits. Sadly they no longer exist, but I plan to exhibit some of my work on this site, and I hope to be out hunting again, if another pack permits me.
So to the present. Erica Byrne Photography is a new venture for me so for the time being I am not going to be too ambitious with what I offer but look forward to offering more in the future.
